“Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (Corinthians 13:7)
Together we learn to
Be the Best we can be, guided by God’s love.
We live out the Christian values of
Forgiveness, Friendship, Hope, and Trust,
encouraging everyone to achieve their God-given potential,

develop their talents, celebrate their uniqueness,
and rejoice in the joy of belonging to God’s family.

At our school, we believe that talk is the foundation of learning. Oracy plays a vital role in helping children think, learn, and communicate confidently. We teach children how to speak clearly, listen carefully, and respond thoughtfully, so they can share ideas, ask questions, and engage meaningfully with others.

Oracy is embedded across the curriculum from EYFS to Year 6. Children are given regular opportunities to develop their speaking and listening skills through structured discussion, partner talk, drama, debate, storytelling, and presentations. Teachers model effective talk and provide sentence stems and vocabulary to support pupils in expressing their ideas.

We place a strong emphasis on inclusive talk, ensuring all children are supported to participate. This includes planned opportunities for turn-taking, reasoning aloud, explaining thinking, and building on the ideas of others. Oracy supports learning in reading, writing, maths, and across all subjects, while also developing confidence, resilience, and social skills.

By the time children leave our school, we aim for them to be articulate, confident communicators who can adapt their talk for different audiences and purposes, preparing them well for secondary education and life beyond school.
